When David was 10, he started taking piano lessons when his grandmother had discovered that he had a gift in music. 4 years later he started entering piano performance competitions all throughout the state of Oregon. After a couple of years of competing in these competitions he started winning various competitions and gained recognition among some of the top music enthusiasts in the region. David began studying with some of the top music teachers from around the world. This lead to him traveling and giving performances in many concert halls around the world including Khabarovsk, Russia.
It wasn’t long after this that he realized he had a gift and passion for composing classical music. When he was 16 years old he composed a one-act musical that was performed at the theater department at George Fox University. It was later revised and performed again at a catholic school in central Oregon. In the following years he has written dozens and dozens of vocal works, small chamber music, piano music, and much more. He has given numerous recitals of his compositions throughout the Northwest.
David now teaches piano out of his studio in Portland OR. and is an active composer. He also was the composer, artistic director, and conductor of the Martin Harmonic Choir.
